Construction Profile:Kenya’s 1,050 MW Coal Fired Power Plant in Lamu County, Kenya.

This is the first coal fired power plant in Kenya to be fired by imported coal from South Africa coming  through the Lamu Port to be constructed under the  LAPSSET project. Read more on MoE Construction Project Profile.

Lamu Coal power plant will be discharging the hot water used for cooling onto the Indian Ocean. An artistic impression of the yet to be established Lamu Coal power plant.
